Laura Maher Liversage

Clinical Psychologist • Wellness Coach

“I value creating a space where people can explore their experiences as a whole, including emotions, the body, and life context, at a pace that feels supportive and respectful.”

Hi, I’m Laura. I’m a clinical psychologist working within the Holistic OM collective, supporting adults through a range of emotional and psychological concerns, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, and the impact of life transitions.

My work is grounded in a whole-person, trauma-informed approach to psychological care. I’m interested in how emotional wellbeing is shaped by the interaction between thoughts, feelings, relationships, physical health, and life context. I aim to create a calm, supportive space where people feel safe, respected, and able to explore what has brought them to therapy at a pace that feels right for them.

I bring many years of clinical experience across private practice, hospital, and community settings. This breadth of experience informs a thoughtful and flexible approach, allowing care to be tailored to each person’s needs, goals, and circumstances

Approach to care:

My sessions are collaborative and carefully paced, with an emphasis on building a strong therapeutic relationship and working in a way that feels respectful and supportive. I take time to understand what has brought you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from a range of evidence-based psychological frameworks. These may include Narrative Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), where clinically appropriate.

I also draw on principles from Positive Psychology and, where relevant and appropriate, incorporate elements of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to support self-awareness, emotional processing, and engagement with personal values. The specific approaches used are guided by individual presentation, preferences, and therapeutic goals, rather than a fixed model.

Laura is available for appointments at Holistic OM in central Geelong.
